Daily recommended intake of some common vitamins/nutrients

The average American diet is lacking in several essential nutrients and vitamins including calcium, magnesium, vitamin A, C and D. A deficiency in these vitamins and nutrients can cause many physical symptoms. Vitamin D deficiencies for example can lead to fatigue, joint pain, depression symptoms and brain fog. However daily supplement intake does not always equal better health and can actually lead to more complications.

There is risk associated with starting supplements or vitamins. Some of the risk include combining supplements, using supplements with prescription medications, substituting prescriptions medication for supplements and taking too many or too much of a supplement.

The FDA does not review dietary supplements for safety and efficacy. The supplement manufacturer is responsible for making sure their products are safe before they are sold.

Always consult with your health care provider before starting any supplements.
